Mechanical Systems Engineer Crawley, West Sussex. England

Mechanical Systems
Crawley, West Sussex

Up to £43,923 (+ design pay up to £2,517pa)

Join us at Virgin Atlantic Airways and you’ll get to develop your engineering talents on one of the most advanced fleets in the sky.

As part of our talented engineering team, your primary focus will be on providing mechanical systems technical and design expertise to the airline. Safety is our top priority, so you’ll be involved in reviewing technical documentation and assessing its implications on our fleet to ensure we comply with EASA Part M and other regulatory requirements. Whether you’re investigating defects and providing Part 21 approval documentation or implementing fleet maintenance and modification policies, staying on top of costs will be crucial. The need to liaise extensively with engineering colleagues and flight safety departments, as well as manufacturers, regulatory bodies, equipment vendors and other airlines regulatory bodies, will also fall within your extensive remit.

You’ll either have an aviation-related engineering degree or HND, or have completed a recognised apprenticeship in aircraft engineering with knowledge and qualifications to the level of an EASA B1 or B2 licence holder. We’re also looking for solid Mechanical Systems engineering experience with an airline or OEM design/development department, along with strong negotiation, interpersonal, IT and decision-making skills.

In return, you can look forward to an excellent benefits package, including one of the best concessionary travel schemes in the industry.
